Phuket's most romantic Boutique Resort, a perfect hideaway for a relaxing holiday.

The Mangosteen Resort & Ayurveda Spa features 41 villa rooms and a selection of facilities over an area of 25,000 square meters of lush tropical gardens.

The resort has been designed for individual travelers only. We do not accept tour groups – guaranteed! Creating an atmosphere of tranquility, relaxing and comfortable but not snobbish, the resort has frequently been selected by experienced travelers who are used to good comfort but bored staying in larger hotels during their holidays.

Feel at home instantly, pampered with all amenities and luxury to really relax during your holiday. With great attention to detail, the owners together with the John Underwood design team have created the unique, elegant "Mangosteen theme". It automatically and instantly makes you feel comfortable and in holiday mood.

The Food and Beverage offer consists of a restaurant with Thai- and Western menus, the pool and lounge bar with its famous Happy Hours and the unique underground wine cellar which can host small parties for dinner. In-Room Dining on your private terrace is available as well and one of our best-sellers. The restaurant features weekly theme nights like the “Thai Food Lovers Night” and the “5 Gems of Asia”.

The large free form swimming pool is salt-water treated and the heart of the property. It is open 24 hours with water temperatures around 30 degrees. There is generous space for everybody and even with the resort fully booked, the pool area won’t feel crowded.

Adjacent to the swimming pool and not to miss is our Ayurveda Spa. Our certified Ayurveda Doctor is available for free and individual consulting. Traditional Spa and massage services are of course available as well. Our Fitness Centre is located in the lower part of the Spa Building, well equipped and with great views towards Racha and Coral Islands.

The resort offers free shuttle services to Nai Harn beach, one of the best beaches in Phuket, located in a pristine National Park. Other shuttles services and airport transportation are available as well against a charge. Our Guest Service Agents assist you with the booking of land and see excursions and with any other requirements, around the clock.

If a single word to describe our experience was required, then "Sensational" would be appropriate.
Arriving on one of the online vouchers from Australia, we were met in the foyer with a cool drink and a very brief orientation talk before being escorted to our villa for a quick demonstration of the room/ resort features. Rooms were excellent and, although we had read previous trip advisor reports suggesting they were a little tired, we found the large, airy room to be clean, fully furnished and very well serviced.
Onsite restaurant also rates 5 stars from us; in particular, the executive chef Daniel who managed to provide the best salmon we've ever tasted, on two separate occasions. Useful to note that each meal is prepared separately with individual sauces cooked for each dish rather than the usual time saving method of pre-preparing some components. Both themed food evenings were also a delight with the japanese component of the "Five Gems of Asia" night, particularly noteworthy.
We had our first ever "Spa" experience and found this to be the best takeaway memory of our entire trip with the ladies actually having to wake us up when the massage was complete. It's a shame we didn't take full advantage of the available packages right from the start because, even without the complimentary voucher provided with our booking, they appear to be excellent value.
Staff are friendly and helpful with advice on tours, trips and local restaurants. Service is top shelf from the very friendly room cleaning team to the bar and restaurant staff. It's likely a case of "Just doing our jobs" but it's the smile that goes along with the service that stands out with this team. Well done!

Can't wait to return and do it all again soon.

What a fantastic resort!! I had read a few reviews on trip advisor before our trip and I found the complaints about dated rooms and remote location to be very inaccurate. Our room was absolutely amazing, so spacious and we LOVED the outdoor shower! Even though the tv was an old one, we didn't find that to be a problem as who goes to phuket to sit and watch tv?!?! The staff were so friendly and always helpful, even when we had the presentation, we never felt pressured or received any unfriendliness when we didn't take up the offer. Our complimentary dinner and spa voucher were so welcome and just added to the great experience that is mangosteen. The resort hires out scooters which we found to be a much cheaper way to see the island than using taxis and the bikes were in great condition. The food was very good, even if it was a little pricey. If you're looking for a relaxing resort away from the touristy areas and hustle and bustle of areas like karon and patong, the mangosteen is definitely the place to be. Beautiful views, STUNNING pool, great rooms, awesome staff - everything we needed to make our stay in phuket a truly unforgettable holiday. THANK YOU MANGOSTEEN!!!

"Just got back from 7 days at the resort. Fantastic resort in a great location with excellent facilities. The pool area is a great place to hang around and the spa massages are a real treat. The staff provide great service and the personal touch and attention by the owners was a pleasant surprise, lovely people. Perfect for people who want a relaxing time and place to launch daily trips from. Thoroughly recommend the experience." Barry and Aliso, stayed in June 2012

"We spent 7 nights at the resort at the beginning of June and had no problems with bookings or communication with the staff. We took up the special offer like many people, after reading reviews we upgraded to the Royal Jacuzzi Suite at a great rate. The resort is beautiful, relaxing and in a perfect location. All the staff are so lovely and accommodating and Monki at the pool bar (or monkey as we all called him) makes amazing long island teas! We met some great people at the resort happy hour which we hope to catch up with again (Russell and Maureen, Roug, Rel, Reyton, Rave and Ranne- Marie). We shared a lot of Long Island Teas and laughs. The resort is roughly 40 minutes out of Patong, but in a great location to explore the other secret wonders of the island. We had some amazing meals at Rawai beach, Nai Harn Beach and along Phuket view point. Not sure about the local market around the corner unless you want to buy chickens and jeans? We would recommend hiring a scooter as we got to see parts of Phuket we would have never seen by taxi especially the ride to Patong along the coastal road. We will recommend to all our friends a perfect second honeymoon." Ric and Richelle, June 2012

"We were picked up from Phuket Airport in steamy April and transferred to the Mangosteen Resort in an air conditioned car. This was looking good as it was so hot.
We were pleasantly greeted by Luke who showed us around and to our room. It was great but we decided to upgrade to a larger Suite which had a great view of the bay and ocean... we even had our own spa room! Room service is prompt if you desire a snack or a full meal indoors. The main reception staff Kat and Nate were so helpful and friendly, nothing was a problem.
The salt pool is fab with interesting flowing sections and I would recommend a cocktail by the pool while the sun is setting. This is a nice resort with spa facilities and a great air con gym.
We found the location very peaceful and being up off the flat beach area, you experience gentle evening breezes and see the lights across the bay and ocean....fabulous.
A casual but classy restaurant which was well manged and staffed, so that you didn't have to wait for service. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. We met the owner, his wife Rose, and their daughter Ying (the Resort Manager) who arranged for us to have a three course Thai cooking lesson at the resort! which we ate after with a glass of chilled wine. Thanks to Rod (Food and Beverage Manager) and the top Thai Chef for our fun filled and memorable cooking lesson, All the staff are intelligent well trained people who are there to make your stay relaxing and memorable. Obviously we had a lousy time lol. We can thoroughly recommend this resort.
Thank you, Ian & Dianen" April 2012
